Netherlands (contd.)



Each season has a specialty in it. In spring, the tulips blossoms and many parks and gardens can be visited. In summer, hit the beaches, ride the trails, sail on Lake Machigan. In autumn, you can harvest the orchard, full color. In winter, tour the museum, show, skiing and shop for holiday. The city has a world class museum, canals, great atmosphere and marvelous modern architecture. Craig cruisers has a great atmosphere and is a family fun place with indoor game room, miniature golf course, kiddies carts, bumper boats and food services. Crazy bouncer is known for its three huge rooms. Hollands’ museum depicts the arrival of the Dutch in 1847, their struggle for access to Lake Michigan, the devastating fire of 1871, the amazing story of Holland’s rise from the ashes, the birth of Tulip Time and the war years of courage and commitment. Nelis’ Dutch village has spectacular gardens, canals and is renowned for its Dutch architecture.

PLANNING THE TRIP



When you plan for the trip the first step is to prepare a pre-plan checklist. This list may consist of your budget, destination and type of accommodation, duration, purpose, special activities, medication and travel agent contact information. Before the trip to be organized it should be properly prepared. Depending on the budget or fund decide on the place (destination) and duration of the trip. You should know the basics of the place through guide books or maps, the weather prevailing and the things required for the trip. For the trip the basic necessity is the mode of travel. Air ticket or train ticket should be taken care of and bought well in advance. Carry your passport, driving license, medical prescription (if any) and first aid box. Collect as much info as necessary about the local transportation in the destination. Have a good amount of local currency in hand and a reasonable amount in your bank account. Primary things like dresses, jerkins sleepers etc are to be taken. If you carry laptops, digital camera, handy cam make sure you carry enough batteries, chargers and other necessary things. Avoid packing unnecessary things and have enough space to pack the souvenirs purchased during the trip.

COLOMBO


Though the country is in the midst of controversies involving terrorism, Colombo awaits those who are daring to travel to these parts of the world. Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka beckons you to come and be a part of a culture that is steeped in history and is very finely juxtaposed with contemporary thought and style of living. The city boasts of a national museum, conventional centre and many more. The city has a fine touch of Buddhist influence which can be traced down many years in the past. The city has a lot of monasteries, temples and mosques. It is the seat of the government and home of many businessmen. The scenic beauty and the country’s hospitality are the main packages for any visiting tourist. The beaches are a place for complete relaxation. The trip could be so planned that most parts of Colombo could be covered in over 3 days. Colombo definitely promises each of its visitor thrill and complete joy.

NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand is the nuclear-free country which is close to both the sea and the mountains. It is known as ‘land of long white cloud’. Thought it is small in size, it has a magnificent natural beauty. It has an irregular long coast indented with coves, bays, harbors and fjords. The specialty is its fresh air, breathtaking scenery and outdoor activities. It is also the home for the flightless kiwi bird. It has two main islands namely North Island and south island which are entirely different in their geography.

NORTH ISLAND: It has volcanic landscapes, active thermal areas, beaches, excellent sailing, forest and Maori culture is followed. Iron sand beaches (black sand) are common along west coast of this island. Black color is the result of volcanic eruptions. It has the longest beach of 90 miles with huge sand dunes resembling Sahara desert. Auckland and wellington are the two major cities in this island.

SOUTH ISLAND: It has spines of mountains; snow covered Southern Alps, waterways of fjord lands with glaciers, deep lakes and verdant forest. Christchurch and Dunedin are the major cities.
This land is easy and compact and the climate is good enough, making it ideal to visit this land anytime and southern island’s beauty features in ‘Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy.

MALDIVES: a place for a perfect sun bath


Bouncing back from a series of natural disasters, like the coral bleaching wrought and the deadly tsunami it once faced, the country of Maldives has become a byword for paradise for divers, honeymooners and sun bathers. Located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, this place has the remains of the then highly active volcanoes which have turned dormant over the years and serve for the purpose of sight seeing. The island nation is engulfed by coral reefs on either side which add beauty to the already romantic island. Maldives is a small island spanning about 90000 square kilometers. The various islands, the massive lagoons and the deep corals make it a perfect tropical holidaying destination. The country boasts of excellence and satisfaction to all tourists which is a main reason for it turning out to be a promising destination for many tourists.

PARIS: The land of Maximum tourists

One place in the world which has the number of tourists visiting the place in a year equal to its entire population is the famous city of PARIS. A city boasting of the HAUTE COUTURE and one of the wonders of the world, THE EIFFEL Tower, it stands as the first choice for a place to visit in Europe. Anyone visiting this city would love to walk along the banks of seine, go watch one of the plays in the theatre, go visit the Notre dame, look in awe at the museums, enjoy the food and experience the best times in their life. The city also boasts of a variety of shopping goods which also includes a large number of perfumes and chocolates. Paris is said to be a romantic city and is preferred by a lot of young couples. Paris is a million different things to a million different people.

Netherlands

Netherlands is a low lying territory with one third of the country at or below the sea level and thereby needs to be protected from flood by dykes and sea walls. It is small in size but big in events and activities. It has a history of great painters. It is the birth place of great artist’s like Vincent Van Gogh and Piet Mondriaan. Food processing, chemicals, petroleum refining, electrical and electronic machinery, agriculture (known for its plants and cut flowers) are some of the well known activities in Holland. The busiest port in Europe, Rotterdam is located here. The specialty of the Dutch is raw herring, smoked eel and pea soup, variety of cheese. The local, national, international film makers and artists can be seen here on Tulipanes, Latino art and film festival. The downtown streets and sideways are dried in winter due to snow melt system. Shopping in Holland Victorian should not be missed
