NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand is the nuclear-free country which is close to both the sea and the mountains. It is known as ‘land of long white cloud’. Thought it is small in size, it has a magnificent natural beauty. It has an irregular long coast indented with coves, bays, harbors and fjords. The specialty is its fresh air, breathtaking scenery and outdoor activities. It is also the home for the flightless kiwi bird. It has two main islands namely North Island and south island which are entirely different in their geography.
NORTH ISLAND: It has volcanic landscapes, active thermal areas, beaches, excellent sailing, forest and Maori culture is followed. Iron sand beaches (black sand) are common along west coast of this island. Black color is the result of volcanic eruptions. It has the longest beach of 90 miles with huge sand dunes resembling Sahara desert. Auckland and wellington are the two major cities in this island.
SOUTH ISLAND: It has spines of mountains; snow covered Southern Alps, waterways of fjord lands with glaciers, deep lakes and verdant forest. Christchurch and Dunedin are the major cities.
This land is easy and compact and the climate is good enough, making it ideal to visit this land anytime and southern island’s beauty features in ‘Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy.
